Arnie went in for his first visit at Dr. Mark F. Olson's office where they practice sedation dentistry.  This was the only reason Arnie even agreed to go back to the dentist, since his fear of the dentist began when he was a young, chubby lad.  As you saw in last week's photo update (Part 1 "The Consultation"), handsome Dr. Mark and his lovely wife Tawnie have been along every step of the way. You will notice that Producer Nick was on hand to film the whole process, and do we have a show for you!  We'll get to that towards the end of this update.  Once all of the major work was done, Arnie decided to wake up from his sedation.  This is where the benefits of becoming a member come in handy... We will have footage of Arnie like you've never seen before!  That is, if you have ever had to supervise someone who had taken a heroic dose of mushrooms, then you might know what this was like.  But first, the procedure!

   
- Arnie prepares for his sedation!  Off he goes down the rabbit hole.  See you on the other side with perfect looking teeth!

   
- Dawn takes Arnie into Dr. Mark's office and meets the hairless cat and office mascot Monkey!

    
- Dr. Mark goes over some last minute details with Arnie before he's taken back to begin Arnie's procedure.  Three root canals and caps, as well as a laser cleaning!

    
   
   
- Arnie is place as he slowly drifts into a nice, peaceful sedation...

  
- This is what Dr. Mark has to work with!  There's a lot to be done, but he up for the challenge.

- Let the procedure begin.  Krystel the hygienist did full gum therapy (scaling and root planning). Then Dr. Mark did a root canal and 2 crowns.  This was Arnie's first set of treatment, the next visit will be to finish his comprehensive exam.  

... And then Arnie woke up.  This is when things got weird.  

  
At one point, Producer Cristi called Rob because Arnie wanted to go home instead of finsihing the procedure!  Rob finally arrives and turns into the "fat guy whisperer."  He finally got Arnie to get back in the chair for the final touches on his dental procedure.
