Well, I know that the weather really doesn't show it, but Spring time is right around the corner which can only mean one thing. NEW GOLF EQUIPMENT!!!!!!!!!! So here's a look at some of the really cool stuff that could but probably won't help out your golf game. But hey, at least you'll have cool new shit to show off to your buddies.
Drivers

Ok, so I don't care what people say. The driver is the MOST important club in the bag. The first driver is the one in my bag, the Titleist 909D. It's probably the best club that Titleist has put out in a while and it hits the ball a mile. Very forgiving and easy to hit.
Callaway has also released a bunch of new drivers but here's what's being offered from the tour department.
The FT-9 series. You won't find this in my bag because shitbag Phil Michelson plays this so I flat out won't!!!!!!!
Last but not least is the new R9 from TaylorMade. If your one of these idiots that wants to tinker around with your golf clubs all the time this is the perfect toy for you. Not only can you change the weight but the face angle and the lie angle of the club as well. All that STILL won't help you hit the ball straight.
Woods

Ok, now time for the fairway woods. I don't have a bunch to choose from because I HATE hitting fairway woods. And by the way to any golf announcer reading this, please for the love of God call them fairway WOODS, not metals. You pompous assholes!!!!!!!!!
Cobra has a new S9-1 Pro series. I don't know what any of that means but it is all black and looks really cool. I tried hitting one of these but the head is too small for me, meaning it's for REALLY good players.
Tour Edge has been really popular over the last couple of years with their fairway WOODS. This is the new Exotics XCG-V line that will hit the ball a mile. Bad thing is that this is probably the MOST expensive 3wood you will ever buy. Have fun Mr. Gates.
Hell, I don't even know the name of the new Adams series of fairway WOODS but I do know one thing. They are SQUARE. Square golf clubs are stupid, ugly and don't add anything to the game.
Irons

Now it's time for some irons.
Taylor Made is getting a lot of hype around their new Burner Series Irons. They are all supposed to be different sizes, offsets and a bunch of other crap. Yes, I do want a set of these because they look really cool. So if you would like to buy me a set they come out later this month.
Mizuno has always been known as the best makers of Forged clubs. I don't know what forging means, unless it's my dads name on an old report card. The latest product from them are the MP-52 Forged Irons. I do know that Mizuno's have always been hard to hit, but they say these are more forgiving for bad shot. Let me say one thing to that. LIARS!!!!!!!!!!
Of course we have to show you what Tiger Woods hits. The new Nike Victory Red TW's. These are blades, which are hard to hit. So hard in fact, the only reason you should try to play these is if your name is in fact TIGER WOODS!!!!!!!!
Wedges

Now it's getting down to the short game clubs. The wedges, if you will.
Titleist Vokey Wedges have always been good, at least that's what everyone says, and they are actually in my bag now because they were pretty much given to me. I do like them, mainly because they were free. This year, they have a new Nickel finish on them. Too bad, I got last years models.
Cleveland along with a few other companies have come out with chippers for around the green. This is the Niblick Short Game Hybrid. All I can say is that if I ever put one of these in my bag it's because I have just joined the special Olympics.
Putters

Alright we are down to what most people call the money maker club in the bag. The putter. Since I suck at putting, it hasn't made me much money. In fact with all the putters I have broken over the years, this is the most costly of my golf clubs.
I don't know why but I am a Scotty Cameron freak. Whenever he comes out with a new putter I want it. No matter how ugly it is, or how much it WON'T work for me, I usually get it. Here is the new Fastback putter from them. It looks like a Mallet putter but it feels like a blade putter, which means I will miss it just as bad, if not a little bit worse.
Now, I hate Odyssey putters because they are just, well.....ODD. This one is no different. If you want to putt with the Starship Enterprise then this is the hunk of shit for you!!!
Enjoy Springtime golf, if it ever gets here.

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago I showed you some of the new drivers and putters that are about to hit the market. I also said that I would be updating you on the new wedges and irons coming out as well. Well, what's the damn point because I can't hit either one of those. It's because I have the SHANKS SHANKS SHANKS SHANKS SHANKS SHANKS SHANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There I said it. No, it doesn't feel better that I said it because they are still happening. Here's a funny story, I went out to the range to practice the other day thinking that I would be able to fix my swing. And guess what happened????????? SHANK, CLANK, all the shitty noises that you don't want to hear. And even more you don't want to feel them when they happen in your hands. So this is an open letter to the game of golf. YOU SUCK!!!!!!!! I am tired of playing you, because you are evil and terrible. But I will still continue to play you because I am a sick sick man. This is one of those letters that therapist tell you to write and throw away, but let me say I think that's stupid because the other party doesn't know how much they piss you off, and I want golf to know just how I feel. You are a dirty dirty game, giving all kind of new cool gadgets and clubs for people to hit, knowing full well that you are not going to allow them to do so because you SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Many of you people are probably saying then why do you still play. It's because I'm an addict and I can't help myself. Plus there is no rehab for golf. Most rehabs have people play golf because hitting something with a stick can release some aggression. Well, it just causes more aggression for me, so deal with it. I know that I am never going to be on tour, but I still want to play. People tell me to take time off from the game. Let me ask a question. And do what????????? Plant a garden, oh wait I will see green grass and think of golf. So that's screwed. Should I take up painting?????? Well if I did that I would probably cut my ear off and throw it at you because then I would be a fag!!!!!!!!!! So how about this, I am going to continue to play the stupid game of golf and maybe someday I won't suck as bad as I do now, and yes I know that in the light of eternity that it means I still have a large ass, but so does your mom!!!!!!!!!!!!! So ending this letter to golf let me say one more time, YOU SUCK!!!!!!!! And I can't wait to go out again and play you. You devilish whore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Fall is right around the corner and I know that alot of you really aren't looking for new clubs just yet, but there are plenty of great new clubs coming out. Here's a few to check out.
Ok, so my favorite club in my bag is the putter. The reason is because I can't really SHANK it!!!!!!!!!!! I only use Scotty Cameron Putters because they feel better than anything else I have ever used. They have a bunch of new models but the one I'm most excited about is the Squareback putter. It has the look of a mallet, but the control of a blade, whatever the hell that means. Plus plenty of new models to get you rolling the ball a little better.
My other favorite club that I hit is my driver. Plenty of new drivers coming out as well, including two new drivers from TaylorMade. They really aren't that new. One is a newer version of the old R7, and the other is the new design of the Burner Driver. I am VERY excited that Cleveland has a new version of the Launcher driver coming out. I have no idea about the technology that is being put into these clubs but I'm sure it's better than last years and will fly much, much further. Maybe next week we will take a look at new Irons and Wedges.

| Ok, so things haven't changed too much in the bag since the last time. I've been playing pretty good so nothing has been broken...........YET. The year is still young though.. |
| I can't believe it, the same driver has been in my bag since December. I love my Taylor Made R7 TP SuperQuad. I hit this thing further and in control more than ANY other driver I have EVER hit. |
| These two clubs are my rescue clubs. One is actually a Mizuno Iron that was made for me that is really easy to get up and get me out of trouble. The Adams Rescue club is probably my favorite and least favorite club. Sometimes it works and sometimes it screws me but man when it works it goes and goes and goes. Especially when it's thrown. |
| So here is the money maker/money loser. This is an old Scotty Cameron Newport 2 that I sent back and had some work done to it. All the scratches taken out and a few more sight lines and a sight dot put on the top to help me not miss so many putts. I'm still waiting on that to work though. |
| There is a rule in golf that says you need to be able to identify your ball, well no problem there for me. I have a GIANT A on all my balls. ALL MY BALLS!!!!!! |
| Let me tell you that golf bags don't get much better looking than that. I love the fact that the Great State of Texas just BOOMS out at you!!!!!!!!! |
| Are there putters in all of those???????? Not quite, this is just a look at my collection of Scotty Cameron Headcovers. The Shamrock is my favorite but I only use it when big money is on the line. |
| So I have switched my irons to the R7's from Taylor Made. I didn't think that I would like them due to the thick top line on the club, but the minute I hit them I knew they would be the last irons I would buy for at least a few months. I am not kidding when I tell you that they are 10-15 yards longer than my old irons and they were at the time the longest I had ever hit. I love the irons. |
| I also have switched wedges. I went from the Cleveland's to the Taylor Made TP Satin finish. These could be, no they are the best wedges that I have ever hit because they spin like crazy and they are really easy to hit and throw at the same time. |
So that's all the gear I'm using these days. Got any
questions or comments? Drop me an email.

Arnie What's Up with What's in
my Golf Ba
Ok,
so the answer is yes... I change my clubs often I think
though I have found my perfect set of clubs that works
for me. Of course that is until a new driver (the Callaway
Square FT-I) comes out. As far as my irons go I
have found a set that is really easy to hit as well
as the farthest clubs that I have ever hit. I have kept
my wedge for the last couple years because they are
the most forgiving wedges that are out today because
of the cavity back in them. Now it's time to take a
look at my clubs, but first, let's start with an important
part of anyone's golf game, the ball.....
| The
Ball: Callaway HX Tour golf balls -- Flat out my favorite ball right now.. |
|
The
NEW Putter...

The
Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Longneck Terrilium Putter -- This putter was originally black with the copper insert.
I sent it to a guy I found on Ebay to refinish with an
all copper finish. I have only played a couple of rounds
with this putter but the feel, and the way it rolls the
ball is the best feeling putter I have ever used. |
|
| Divot
Tool & Ball Marker: This stuff is still the same
from last year, and still very important to me. The first
picture is my divot tool I use to replace divots on the
course. As for my ball marker (second picture), well I'm
pretty superstitious when it comes to my ballmarkers.
I can only use one when they are given to me. It makes
me feel lucky. This is my 8 year AA chip (click on the
image to enlarge). A really good friend of mine gets me
a silver one every year, so every year I use a different
one each year that I'm sober. |

 |
The
Driver...

|
| The
Taylor Made R7 TP Superquad -- This is the
newest of the R7 series that is a 460 head with 4 removable
weights where you can adjust how you want your ball flight.
I just want it to go towards the target I'm hitting at,
and right now it seems to be working. It has the Fujikara
Rombax Stiff Shaft inside that is one of the best shafts
I have ever hit. |
My
Adams 20 Degree Rescue club and My 3 Wood...

My
Adams 20 Degree Rescue Club is by far the BEST
rescue club I have ever hit!!!!!!! It is very square at
set up and there is hardly any offset allowing me not
to duck hook this rescue club also. It comes stock with
an Aldila Blue By You shaft that is very easy to hit and
gets the ball up in the air in a hurry. My
3 Wood is a Nakashima.
They are a small but great club maker that allows you
to build your club. My club is 3 degrees open because
with a fairway wood in my hands I tend to go after it
a little harder and hook the hell out of the ball. This
allows me to go after it without worrying about a big
duck hook. |
My
Irons...
Bridgestone
GC Mid Irons -- OK,
so these are categorized as a game improvement iron
even though the top line is as thin as a blade, but
they are really really forgiving and they fly forever
and ever. These come stock with the Nippon Stiff Steel
shafts. A great club if your looking to make your iron
play better.
For
my wedges, I use Cleveland
CG11 Wedges. OK, these are the only wedges
that have a cavity in the back that allow them to be
played as a regular iron. They are forgiving and most
importantly they feel like a wedge is supposed to feel.
Sure with the cavity it is a bit harder to chip with,
but that's why you have to practice.
Coming
Soon to "Arnie's Golf Bag"...

The
Callaway FT-1 Square Driver -- This has the
highest MOI allowed (which stands for Moment of Inertia,
which by the way I have no idea what it means). All
I know is that EVERYONE is saying that this club hits
the ball further and straighter than anything that has
ever been released. I can't wait to put this in my bag
just to see what Rob's reaction to this will be. You
can get more information on this new driver by
clicking here and going to Callaway's website.

And
now for the grand finale.
Here's a photo of the full set of clubs that I'm using
today...

You
gotta admit, that's a pretty freaking awesome bag. Oh
yeah, almost forgot the best part...

Is
that awesome or what. I've got my name and the official
emblem of state of Texas on my bag (yes, that does make
me cool by the way). Always remember this. There are
two types of people in this world.... people who are
from Texas, and people who wish they were!!!!!
And
of course, no visit to my golf page is complete without
checking out all of my golf shoes...
