As you've probably figured out by now, I do a LOT of golfing! Because I get to see a lot of courses and play a lot of greens, I've decided to have a do keep an official reviews page for all the courses I play.
Here's a quick breakdown of my ratings system: |

Hello once again, time for the next course review. This week the employed roommate and I ventured to the Darkhorse golf club in Auburn. I really wanted to rip this course apart after the first few times I played it, and then again after an incident with friends there. The truth is I can't rip it too bad though. The course was in great shape, fairways full of grass, not too high. The rough was fair to play out of, and tee boxes in great shape. The greens were a little fast, somebody was trying to tell me the stemped out at 16, whatever!!! The three worst things about the course (1) Pace. This has to be one of, if not the slowest course to play in town, the reason why, way too many cart path only holes. Enough already. (2) The customer service was a joke. As I tried to pay for my round, the "pro" behind the counter was more interested in answering the phone, and the bag kid didn't want anything to do with me. (3) The sand traps. Get some consistency going. Some are really packed and hard, while others are wet, and then some are fluffy like clouds. Not too bad of a day.
Here's a look at my afternoon at Darkhorse.... |

Here I go off the first tee, needless to say since I didn't get a really good warmup in, I hit a really terrible shot. But nice pants.

Here is the second hole on the course, a 340 yard uphill par 4, needless to say I blasted my drive, still made bogey, on a really stupid green.

Here is the employed roomate on the 210 yard par 3 third hole, he actually made birdie this time, even though he had to hit a 3 wood to get on. I was on and made par with a 4 Iron.

Here he is again on the phone, jeez all I'm trying to do is play a little golf.

This is by far the best sports drink, half lemonade, half tea, and named after probably the greatest golfer ever.

This is all one hole, the 593 yard par 5 11th hole, the worst hole in the world it looks like a big S which in this case stands for shit.

Hasn't anybody ever heard of an elevator????

Here is the final hole of the day, 495 yard downhill par 5, I hit my drive around 330 or so, great ending hole.

Here's what happens when you hit a drive 280 on a 281 yard hole, and then hit your next shot out of bounds. All and all a good day, shot 94, and I promised the employed roommate I wouldn't say what he shot, but it was waaaaaaaaay worse.

| 2 and a half balls. This really has the potential to be the BEST course in town. I just wish they would work with the customers a little better, you know, let people drive the carts out to their cars. |
