Well, we've done courses in Reno, Truckee, Lincoln, Roseville, etc.. Now it's time to do one in San Francisco. Harding Park is the first in the city we are reviewing. The PGA has given about $8 million to the city to get the course ready for the World Golf Championships in October. Where they put the money I still don't know. It's not a terrible course but I really think that the PGA's 50 best golfers are going to tear this course a new hole and walk it dry. The greens are fair, but will hold everything because of how wet it always is. The rough will be kind of tough when it gets wet, putting a big premium on the fairways. Anyway, here we go with the rest of the review.

Here are some photos from my day at Harding Park in San Francisco....

Here we are at the opening hole of Harding Park in San Francisco. Nice and easy par 4, the pros are going to eat this course up.

Here's a look at the par 5 4th or 5th hole I don't remember, but I know you have to hit a great big draw to get it around the trees to have any shot at going for it in two. I did neither.

Here's a really short par 4, number 7th hole, I hit into the slow asses infront of us, they didn't say anything.

A little par 3 in which the last time I played here I hit it a foot away. This time it was almost a mile, but we got to see a wreck on the street behind the hole.

The 16th hole is a very short par 4, only about 325. I was about 60 yards out, only to bogey the hole. NICE!

Great finishing hole!!! The 18th has water, and trees, and plenty of undulation to make you hit good shots, and I didn't.
So here is my overall rating for Harding Park...
Staff/
Service:
3 Balls. Not too bad, it was actually really nice to see a course marshall doing his job and moving people around the course, too bad he didn't stay on the slow asses.
Greens:
2 1/2 Balls. Not the best greens I've ever played on, but at least there are no dry spots, or great big holes in the grass.
Fairways:
2.5 Balls. Again, I guess we're playing the U.S. freakin' Open here playing really narrow and kind of hard to hit fairways on a course that gets A TON of wind.
Price:

For the $88 bucks my roommate paid I don't see what we really got out of it. Nice golf course but not worth the $$.

Overall
Rating:

3 Balls. Not a bad golf course, but it's a municipal course which needs more work done on it. I would give it more but it was cart path only, which no matter what sucks my ass. If you are in the city and can get on it's not the worst track you can play.
