All I can say about Pinehurst is WOW!!!!!!! This is a real first class place. Sure the hotel might be a little on the old side, but it is good and traditional. The Number 2 course has been home to two U.S. Opens, along with a Ryder Cup, Men's and Womens amatures over the years. This course has a lot of hype, and let me tell you it lives up to it. This is a place that if your a golfer you have to try and play once. Sure many of the resort type courses say that, but there isn't even half the history at most of those places. Pinehurst is a golf lovers dream with 8 courses to choose from, plus at least 40 more in a 20 mile radius.

Here are some photos from my day at Pinehurst....

Here we go, the famous Number 2 course at Pinehurst. Home of two very memorable U.S. Opens. Payne Stewart and Micheal Campbell won on this course that is a real test of golf.

This is a look at the number 3 hole I believe, a short par 4 that the smart play is to lay up with a 3 wood. I did and made par, damn this game is easy.

Pinehurst was full of whats looks like wide open shots, only to screw you on the greens. The greens were like helmets turned upside down, if you missed them you were screwed.

This was a real test of golf, I think I hit driver then hybrid onto the green with a chance at eagle, only to have my caddie misread the putt. I did manage to save my bird though.

Number 18 at Pinehurst a great finishing hole that goes straight up a hill to the clubhouse. I made bogey, but got out of there shooting 82 that day from the next to back tees.

This is the statue of Payne Stewart on 18. Payne Stewart died almost a year after winning the Open at Pinehurst, where he beat that crapbag Phil Mickelson.

I couldn't think of anyone better to take on my vacation than my dad. Plus I can kick his old ass all over the course.

So here is my overall rating for Pinehurst...
Staff/
Service:
3.5 Balls. Outstanding!!!! They shuttle you everywhere you have to go, and even take care of your clubs for you if you don't want to haul them back to your rooms.
Too bad my caddie sucked, I might have given them 4 balls.
Greens:
3 Balls. Sure they were in really good shape, but I hate greens that are teepeed like that. If you land it long or short your chipping, and then you have to hit the chip perfect.
Fairways:
4 Balls. This is what I'm talking about, you hit the ball in the fairway and get a ton of roll. Hell yea, I felt like the big man that I am that day.
Price:

You actually have to stay to play there, which does suck, but it's worth it because the courses are sooooo nice.

Overall
Rating:

3.9999999 Balls. I would give it 4 but that's saved for Pebble Beach. I loved my time at Pinehurst and would go back. I need to play all the other courses there just to be fair to them.
