As you've probably figured out by now, I do a LOT of golfing! Because I get to see a lot of courses and play a lot of greens, I've decided to have a do keep an official reviews page for all the courses I play.

I was told by a buddy of mine that when I went back to North Carolina to play The Pit. It's a goofy layout he told me, that is really really hard. It turns out that it is one of the top 5 Quarry Golf Courses in America. It was a fun up and down course that has lots of water on that comes into play on second shots, and approachs to par 5. If your ever in North Carolina, do yourself a favor and play the Pit.

Here we go, the opening hole of The Pit, a long par 5, that really is a fun way to start.

Here is the second hole at the pit, after a pretty easy par 5, this par 4 kind of bites you in the ass.

Talk about biting you in the ass, this is a 240 yard par 3 with the green about the size of a postage stamp, I ended up hitting it on with rescue club and making a par .

These were the screw tees, pretty much meaning that you are completely that way if you play those tees, which by the way we did.

A cool par 5 to start to wrap the back side up, that water does come into play, that is if your my dad.

The Pit is a fun and forgiving golf course made out of an old rock quarry.
|
This is where you wrap everything up at the Pit. A really long par 5 that you have to hit it down the middle to have any chance at getting home in regulation.

3 Balls. I really had a great time playing this course! Sure the greens weren't the best in the world but if you can past that, you are going to have a great round. Including par 5's that you can reach in two, that is if you hit it down the middle. If your looking for a place to bend over backwards for you, the Pit isn't for you. If you want a fun and tough challenging day then play The Pit!. |
