I must say that I have been a very lucky guy to get to know some of the staff at the Winchester Country Club. This is by far the finest club in all the Northern California area. This also is probably the toughest course in the same area. The greens are slick, the rough is deep and will eat you up, but also is one of the most scenic course you will find anywhere. I do enjoy playing this course whenever I can, and I hope that someday everybody who loves to play golf can play this course.

Here's a look at my afternoon at Winchester Country Club...

Welcome to the lovely Winchester Country Club just north of Auburn. Here's what I think is the best driving range I've ever seen at a golf course.

This is a look at the number 2 par 3. Not a terribly long hole, but the green is really hard.

Here's a look at the number 4 par 5, a really hard dog leg right, this is the first shot, and next to it is what you have left. I'm happy to get under 8 on this hole.

The last par 3 on the front side, a pretty easy hole if you club yourself right, if not hello crapola!!!

Alright number 10 the hardest hole on the golf course. Only a 500 yard par 4, which I blasted my drive about 340 right down the middle and then hit in the crap, nice.

The signature 15th hole. A par 3 where you have to carry a bunch of water and try to avoid hitting any of the multi-billion dollar homes. Thank God I did both.

This is the finishing hole, a beautiful par 5 with the new clubhouse overlooking your approach. I almost birdied the hole, but this green is the toughest on the course.

So here is my overall rating for Winchester Country Club...
Staff/
Service:
4 Balls. From the cart boys to the guys in the shop this is a first class operation. Wonderful drink girls, who by the way are pretty hot, along with a great staff inside.
Greens:
4 balls, These are the nicest fairways I have ever seen in Northern California. Just plush, plus you get alot of roll.
Fairways:
4 balls. These greens are always in great shape, very fast and very hilly. If you don't three putt at least 4 holes you are having a great day.
Price:
Very expensive to join, and they have a very limited number of times to play. If you get the chance, play it no matter what it costs.
Overall
Rating:

4 balls. Again, these guys are pros. The whole experience is something you think you would find at a Pebble Beach, or a Pinehurst experience. Thank you guys for letting me play.
