Health - Heart Disease

Updated Friday, February 8th, 2008

My father and grandfather (God rest their souls) both died of heart disease. They weren’t overweight men, however their diet was not heart healthy and they both smoked like chimneys. So obviously this started out as a personal issue for me, not wanting to follow in their footsteps when it comes to health and in honor of them, keep my heart healthy. Like with most things that start out personal, you then want other people to benefit from what you know. For the most part, heart disease can be prevented with a heart healthy diet, limiting your stress, quit smoking, not being a binge drinker and getting daily exercise. I know it’s tough, I know life keeps you busy, but you are worth it and if you have a family they are worth you taking care of yourself so you will be around for them. I thought I would include some photos of Troubled Hearts, that may inspire you to make sure your heart does not become Troubled!

Heart Disease

As Women of course we need to be aware of Breast Cancer but we also need to be aware of Heart Disease. For so long we thought it was only an issue for men but as a matter of fact the Number 1 killer of women is Heart Disease, so you better believe we need to know how to avoid getting heart disease. Of course your own doctor is the best place to start but I thought I would pass along a few websites as well....
