It's A Wonderful Life!!!!
ARCHIVES

CHRONOLOGICAL ARCHIVES

Hey everybody!! Welcome to my "It's a Wonderful Life" page. Okay, somebody PLEASE tell me, is it too much to ask for a little LESS negativity shoved in our faces every single day?!? It seems like everywhere we turn we are hammered by all the awful things in life... the television news, newspapers and magazines all pushing the violence, the gore, the pain, suffering, and failure in our world. Nobody ever wants to talk about the good things in life... people helping other people, human beings overcoming unbeatable odds, people growing and learning to overcome the things that ALL of us struggle against every single day. With the playful disapproval of my grumpy partners (that would be YOU Rob and Arnie!!!!) I have decided to dedicate this new webpage, my "It's a Wonderful Life" page to point out all of the positives in this world in the face of all the negatives. Are there evil people in the world? Of course there are!! Do bad things happen daily? Unfortunately yes. But where there is bad, there is good that exists in overwhelming numbers. I tell you this now, and I believe it with all that life has taught me... human beings who embrace love and kindness are the silent majority in this world, and it is time that the majority is heard. Whatever hardships come your way in life... however hard your path may seem, never lose sight of the joys and the gifts in this world. The title of this webpage is also a slogan to live by... "It's A Wonderful Life." I hope that this webpage can be a reminder of just how wonderful life can be.

FIVE FINGERS

I was chatting with a good friend who had recently been let down by another friend and was pretty upset by it, naturally of course. It got us talking about friendships and how yes at some point you will let each other down that is natural as well and you just have to decide if what you were let down with is something you can just move on from and it won’t hurt the friendship. It also got us talking about the one way friendships that surprise you, you know the ones where you are someone your friend can totally rely on in times of need but when you need them you find out how you can’t rely on them in the same way or  when they do something for you it’s because they expect something in return, what is this a barter friendship??!!!!

We realized that at some point with all the people a person considers a friend you are lucky if you can count on 5 fingers the ones that truly have your back with no agenda, you don’t even question their loyalty or reliability you know you can call them last minute in a time of need and they will make it happen to be there for you.  And you also know that neither one of you takes advantage of that so when asked you know it’s the real deal.  And counting on more than 5 fingers the number of true friendships is a total blessing! My friend felt she was in that place where she knows she will go above and beyond for her friends because that is just how she is and she doesn’t do it expecting anything in return but should she keep putting herself out there for friends that she knows she can’t count on to do the same??? That’s the answer to the question, you must stay true to who you are meaning just because someone else won’t go above and beyond you are the type of person that does because that’s who you are, however you can choose who you want to spend that energy on.

Sometimes we find ourselves chasing around those friends who will never know what it is to be a friend and in the meantime we miss out on the friends who are true and real and ready to be here for you. Great friendships that add to your life and not take away from it, those are Wonderful!
