THE BOOK OF ELI

The first movie of the year always makes me hope that the year is going to be a good one going to the movies. This years first movie was The Book of Eli. A movie that follows around Denzel Washington as he is walking through a war torn America about 30 years after the war that destroyed this country. He is on a mission to get to the West Coast. Now this is what I thought the movie was about, him trying to get somewhere and kicking ass along the way. Sure that does happen, but not nearly enough. He has this really cool sword that does lop off heads rather easy but like I said not nearly enough. Along his journey he comes along a town that is being run by Gary Oldman. Now brace yourself, Oldman plays a bad guy. I know that is really a stretch for him, but he seems to pull it off very very well. You see Oldman is looking for a certain book that will help him become more powerful and have more people look to him as a savior more than a thug running a city. The book by the way is the Bible. Now I don't think that there is an actual book of Eli in the bible but it sounds right. Well, Eli isn't that keen on giving up his bible since it is probably the only one left since the war when they burned all the bibles. I have to say that this movie really makes you think and then even question yourself as well. If you would be able to do the things that Denzel did. With that said, I HATE movies like that. I don't go to movies to think. I watch Jeopardy every night for that. So with that along with the SLOW ASS plot, I HATED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!
