EDGE OF DARKNESS

Mel Gibson has returned to the big screen. Mel Gibson should have stayed the hell away. His new movie Edge of Darkness came out this week and I was really excited about it because I like Mel Gibson. Well, at least I used to like him. The movie is about a cop whose daughter gets gunned down outside his house and it turns out to be a big cover-up, plot of the government as well. Ok, not what the previews looked like. I thought the movie was going to be about a dirty cop who just went out and started to kill because his daughter was killed, but no such luck. Instead we have to follow along a twisted story full of cloak and dagger kind of crap, and I was LOST!!!!!!!!!! The one good thing that I can say about this movie is that the kill scenes are really good, and you don't really see them coming. That's about it. Mel's Boston accent is terrible. It's not as terrible as a real Boston accent, but it's bad. I mean this movie not only goes after big corporations, liberal activist groups, police officers and even a Senator from Massachusetts too. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't try to tie in the Boston Red Sox to the death as well, or somehow charge Larry Bird with a crime. Hell, why not say that Big Bird did the killing too. I have to say that as much as I wanted to like the movie, I HATED this bag of crap!
