Ok, so I was excited about a new Will Ferrell movie coming out, but still a little scared because the last time he made a "sports" movie it was about ice skating and it sucked.  So his new movie Semi-Pro got a raised eyebrow from me.  That is until I saw it and let me say, HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's about a crappy ABA team, for anyone under 40 that was a league that tried to compete with the NBA and was doing really well because they allowed players to dunk and had a three point line.  Anyway the team was the Flint Tropics, and no they didn't exists, but still funny.  And their owner was a one hit wonder of a singer that loved basketball so he bought the team and played power forward, Will Ferrell.  This was the last season before the NBA swallowed up the ABA and he wanted his team to be part of the merger, so he did everything he could to get fans.  Including wrestling a bear.  Now I do have to say that weirdo Woody Harrelson was in the movie and that was about the worst part of the movie, he and his underlying love story with some chick from ER.  But at least they didn't let that get in the way of good old fashioned crude humor, and lots and lots of cursing.  Finally a comedy done the old school right way.  I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
