Hey what up digities! It’s me Dawn doing a review on Arnie’s What’s Up with Movies Page….So my friend Stephanie’s little girl Samantha, who is 4, really wanted to see Shrek so the 3 of us had a girl day of getting our nails done and then headed to the movies for Shrek. From a 4 years old perspective she really enjoyed the movie, she laughed and stayed glued to all the action so for her it was a thumbs up! Okay so the basic premise of this movie is Shrek missing his days of being a scary Ogre, having villagers run from him and toward him to try and hunt him down, taking his mud baths in peace and doing whatever he wants when he wants..is being married to Fiona with 3 little babies really his ‘Happily Ever After’ after all?? In the beginning the movie flashes back to when Fiona was still beautiful by day and a Ogre by night and her parents are desperate to help her so they go to Rumpelstiltskin to hand over the kingdom if they take Fiona’s curse away because she still hasn’t had true loves first kiss to break the spell, right before her parents sign they get word that Fiona has been saved with true loves first kiss, and we all know how that went in the first movie. So Rumpelstiltskin goes away angry and beaten down. Fast forward to now and Shrek being unhappy so good ole Rumpelstiltskin sees this as his opportunity to get the kingdom all to himself by promising Shrek one day that he can live like he used to and sounding like such a great thing Shrek signs the contract not realizing he is doing so under the premise that he was never born. Therefore Fiona never received true loves first kiss and everything that would have happened if Shrek had been born did not so Shrek now gets to see the fallout from that, all his friends like the 3 little pigs, gingerbread men, and donkey are basically slaves to the kingdom and Fiona is leading the charge of the underground Ogres who are trying to take down Rumelstilskin…where is Puss n boots you ask? Hilarious! He is the pet of Fiona and SO FAT and lazy not even close the fighter we have known him as!! So basically the kingdom is in shambles, Rumpelstiltskin had got rid of Fiona’s parents leaving him to run everything with the witches doing his dirty work to get rid of all Ogre’s and Fiona not knowing who Shrek is, Shrek has to find a way to save the kingdom and get Fiona to fall in love with him with true loves first kiss before it’s too late for him to get his Happily Ever After back…you will have to see the movie to see how it all turns out! Overall not the best Shrek of all the Shrek’s, but still entertaining good family fun!
