SWING VOTE

Hey Hollywood, thanks for the TERRIBLE weekend of movies. I was in Reno seeing my dad this weekend and we wanted to rent a movie. So I decided that since my dad was paying, why not see Swing Vote with Kevin Costner. After about 45 minutes into the movie, I remembered why I shouldn't watch Kevin Costner movies anymore. The reason is because he is not that good of an actor. Sure, I still love watching Tin Cup, and a couple other of his movies, but I accepted then that he was bad and didn't think he was going to get any better, and he hasn't. The movie is about some down on his luck single dad, who happens to be a looser in New Mexico. When election day rolls around he gets fired, and decides to get drunk instead of going to vote. So his 11 year old daughter goes for him, and something happens to where his vote didn't count. It just so happens that there is tie in the Presidential election and his vote is the deciding factor. Wow, what are the odds????? I mean just as good as us finding out that one single vote controls the country. And of course nothing goes wrong except for all the voter fraud that you would expect in a "comedy". That is until he figures out the right thing to do, and want to learn about what the candidates stand for. BULLSHIT!!!!!! A regular guy would have taken the money and ran, or something "tragic" would have happened to him before he got to vote. Hello, doesn't anyone remember the Whitewater scandal. All and all I like Kevin Costner playing a looser bum in movies, because he is NOT acting whatsoever. I hated this movie because it makes people want to believe that they really do count.
