Dawn's Labor Day Vacation

Hey Everybody!  It’s always nice to have some time off but it’s also always great to be back from vacation! This last vacation was pretty mellow Gary and I hung out together, took a day trip to Carmel and had a great visit with my friend Stephanie and her husband Troy and their little girl Sam who is just too cute! I was also sick for like 5 days of the vacation..booooo! But it gave me a chance to catch up on Reality TV which I love!!! Well I hope you love the photos, enjoy!!

Damn freaken stupid cold!! I have the immune system of a 4 year old! I swear if I am around someone who is sick I catch it…boo! Anywho so here I am on vacation sick! But hey it was fun to lay around and relax and catch up on all the shows I had on tivo but that I hadn’t had a chance to watch! Which included my favorite soap opera The Young and the Restless and all my reality shows including P. Diddy’s I Want to Work for Diddy, The Hills, and one of my favorites Project Runway! Thank God fall is almost here cause that means Dancing with the Stars and American Idol yahooooooo!!

This is sweet cute little Sam! She is the daughter of our friends Stephanie and Troy. She loooooooves animals and knows not to pull their hair or their tail, she just gives them little love pats!! She even brought over her Minnie mouse stuffed animal for our cat Autumn, so sweet! At first Autumn was loving all the attention from Sam but as you can see in one of these photos she is hissing, that is our Autumn one minute she is loving attention and the next minute she wants you away from her!

This is momma Stephanie! Sam took a little nap so we got some adult time in, which of course included a little bit of the vino!! Of course Steph couldn’t get hammered cause she still has Sam to take care of, so I did my part in getting buzzed for her!!!

So Sam awakes from her nap, she is just such a sweet little girl! They are potting training right now as you can see the port a potty in the backround, good times!! Anywho the boys went and got some bbq dinner so we are enjoying our feast out in the living room, I know how classy of us!!

After dinner Sam really wanted to go swimming in our pool, so we all went out there except Stephanie was the only one to get in the water with Sam, we all had had a little too much of the wine!! At first Sam wouldn’t get in the pool with her bathing suit so she stripped down to her diaper and then she wanted in the pool, I think it was like a big bathtub to her!!!

If you are a parent you know how much of a life savor swimming can be when it comes to pooping out your kid! As soon as Sam was done swimming she wanted her sippy cup with milk and then she crashed in her mommy’s arms, isn’t that so precious!

The next morning Sam was hanging out with Pops watching cartoons! Okay so those are minature muffins that we bought but because of how tiny Sam is, the tiny muffin looks so big in her little hands!! And by the way the cow fur pillows that we have on the couch, she totally knew they were from a cow, she kept calling them her moo moo pillows!!

After Stephanie, Troy and Sam left that day, I passed out! You parents are rock stars cause I was pooped from all the energy that Sam had! Plus yep I still was sick, damn it!!

Here I am still with the damn stuffed up nose and congested chest! All the mucus is just so groooooos! My sweet husband Gary and my father in law Pops are on their way to get some orange juice and soup for me while I try and get better! How sweet is Gary he put that cold wash cloth on my forehead and it felt really good!

Yahooooo Gary and I are on our way for a day trip to Monterey/Carmel. We love the Baja Cantina in Carmel and we are going there for a yummy lunch. On the way we see this big truch with Hay and it reminds me of Arnie, cause if you ever drive with Arnie and he sees Hay he will scream  “Hey!!” Get it!!

How freaken neat is this!! On the Monterey beach there was some kind of kite festival, look at all the funny kite’s! I loved the big purple stuffed bear, I wanted to go down there but it was super dooper crowded and a beer was calling my name at the restaurant!!

Time to get me a Corona light!! I don’t know what it is but everytime we come here I want a beer! Their margaritas are really good but the minute we walk in I crave a beer! So it’s the Baja Cantina Station so outside as you can see they have this big gas station pump and if it were only real….13 cents a gallon, no more hard times USA!!!

Have you ever wondered where Plastic comes from? Well now you know Castroville!! Home of plastic and artichokes!! Okay not really Arnie, plastic isn’t grown in the ground!! Tee hee hee!!

Looks it’s a real skyline! San Fransisco! Hey I grew up in Sacramento so I can say we don’t have a real skyline compared to other cities!!! Gary and I love being on the road so we went home thru San Fran!

This is Gary, Pops and I having some lunch and a few drinky drinks and then we headed over to the movies, love that this restaurant is right next door to the movie theatre so you can catch a buzz and then walk on over to the movie! We went and saw Hancock…hee hee hee Han! I thought it was an entertaining movie.

My sweet Gary and I relaxing in bed before we get up and do some bar b qing! Okay before Gary does some bbqing! His bbq chicken is so yummy and moist! I tried to help but it was freaken hot outside and the bbq makes it worse! So I just went ahead and made us some drinks! Hey that’s what vacations are for, relaxing and drinking!
