Dawn's Birthday Getaway To Monterey

Hellooooooo Everybody!!! So last Saturday I turned 39!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit where does the time go, I was just 30!!!! Oddly enough I feel better now than I did at 30!! I had a great Birthday weekend with my hubby Gary that we spent in Monterey, the ocean is one of my favorite places to be so that is where we headed! There is a great hotel called The Beach Resort owned by Best Western and it is the only hotel property in Monterey that has beach front property, such a great place especially when you want a good place to stay and save money!!! Hope you enjoy the photos!

We have arrived!! The ocean picture is the view from our room and Gary and I waste no time having a few drinks in the room. Sweet Janell, Rob’s wife got me UNO spin as one of my birthday presents and Gary and I were actually getting ready to play it but then we got sidetracked with…..well you know what…hee hee!!

Here we are at my dinner birthday, look at that ocean view from our table, so awesome!! And yes of course we continue the drinking!!! We had so much fun chowing down, chatting and enjoying the yummy spirits!!!

These are some shots of our room, I love how they are kinda beachy! And how cool is the black out shade, I would love one of those in our house just roll over in bed and push the shade button, viola daytime turns to night and more nappy time!!

One of the things we like about this hotel is the lobby with the huge windows looking out to the ocean, we just sit here and enjoy the view so relaxing. There’s also a bar in the lobby and they have one hell of a happy hour, so you can just sit drink, eat and enjoy the sound and views of the ocean!

So we decided to take a stroll on the beach, hello you can’t be that close to the beach and not go and take a walk! The shot of the building is the side view of the hotel, really you should stay there next time you are in Monterey, you will so enjoy it!! and for sure economically friendly in these hard economic times….

OMG!!!!! How cute are these birds!! We watched them forever, so funny how they ran to the water to get there food and then scurried away before the waves got them, isn’t it great watching nature!!

When in the Monterey/Carmel area we HAVE to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant we have been telling you about for years…Baja Cantina…the food is not only fantabulous the atmosphere is great, it’s got a woodsy cabin feel to it with random things hanging from the ceilings, like this bike, why? I don’t know but the place is a lot of fun!!!
