Rob's Dogs Labor Day Vacation At Dogwoods Resort
September 9th, 2008

Another summer is winding to an end for Shep & Nellie, the German Shepherds, who finished out their 2008 vacation with another trip to DogWoods resort in Garden Valley, California (http://www.dog-woodsresort.com/)

Before the pictures, thanks to all of you that have contacted and/or visited Theresa and Helen at Dog Woods! They have been thrilled to meet so many of our loyal listeners, but probably more thrilled to meet so many of your dogs. Trust me, your dogs love you for it!

Upon arriving at Dog Woods, Shep and Nellie are introduced all of their new friends for the week. The group socialization is one of the best parts about Dog Woods and teaches dogs how to have fun and behave with other dogs. This comes in handy later when you are out walking your dog or take him to a park…he already knows how to behave around his canine friends!

Shep made close friends with this Akita while he was there and they spent a lot of time together terrorizing the neighborhood.

Nellie, Meanwhile, spent a lot of time exploring things on her own and being adorable.

Every trip to Dog Woods includes daily off leash romps in the woods…

Which ultimately leads to the dogs discovering water, following the stream and finding themselves…

…immersed in water and playing some dopy doggie version of ring around the rosey or duck duck goose or something…

After a swim, Shep and Nellie are soaked and exhausted, as exhibvited by the sideways tongue.

Nellie ultimately finds her way back to camp with a friend of hers and heads for the official Dog Woods sofa…

Several others works their way over, making sure everyone gets a sniff.

This is not Shep and Nellie staring at each other…it’s Shep and another friend he made at Dog Woods this week…

Eventually, Shep and his new pal made their way back to the woods…

…And back to the giant pond/creek/lake/river/whatever for some more playful swimming

Shep and Nellie still found plenty of time to hang out together, explore and play.

But there is no denying that Shep was quite the social butterfly on this trip. Once he and his new pal had dried up from their earlier swim, they were back to playing.

And Shep even found time to hang out with the King of Dog Woods, Theresa’s German Shepherd…look at the size difference between the two of them!

Since we did a collage of Nellie pictures earlier, we’ll close with a bunch of cute photos of Shep the German Shepherd. Another great trip to Dog Woods has ended and both Shep and Nellie came home and engaged in their usual post-dog-woods-coma, which lasts for 3 straight days and encompasses nothing but them sleeping.
