Rob Sets Up His 82" TV At Williams Manor, we’re anxiously awaiting and preparing for our upcoming Nintendo Wii –kend; granted we are a little late to the Wii party, so we’re going to go all out and enjoy our new game on our newly purchased 82 inch television, which I have been clamoring for since we moved into this house years ago; the main room of the home is simply too long for anything smaller than our newest masterpiece of entertainment Here is our brand new 82 inch TV as it sat in our game room, unused for the first few days after it arrived. The stand that we needed to special order for it is about two weeks behind the TV, so I figured why not wait until we have everything and set up the entire system at once? Just to give you an idea of how big this thing is I had Shep, the 85 pound German Shepherd pose next to it…and then I had him guard it.
The worst about this TV? The box it came in…which is the size of a small Haitian village (but in much nicer shape). I literally needed a hacksaw to cut through the sides so that the box could be broken down. Once one of the sides was cut, actually pulling apart the box was the next challenge until all four sides finally came down and the box had been flattened. It was at this point that my wife told me that we needed to keep the box for a month in case there were any problems with the TV…so now, the box sits flattened on my garage floor. After 48 hours of the TV sitting un-used in the game room I couldn’t take it anymore and drug it into the family room and hooked it up. It looks ridiculous sitting on the floor, but it still looks big and beautiful and the picture is amazing. For comparison purposes, Shep posed for a few more shots and in the last picture you can see how small the old, crappy 50 inch TV is compared to the new one. |
