Rob's Office Turned Into A Cartoon
Rob Comparees The Detail In The Cartoon Of His Office
February 2nd, 2010

Recently, we launched another round of RAD cartoons on the membership website courtesy of a loyal fan who volunteered out of a passion for our show. Then, out of nowhere, he dropped off a gift to me a few weeks ago of an artists’ rendering of me sitting in my home office…the detail is impressive to say the least, which I decided to prove to you by comparing the artwork with actual photos from my office:

Let’s begin with the chair I am sitting in…notice the arm rest beading which is exactly true to life

Towards the upper left hand corner on top of the book shelf behind me is a square box…that’s a speaker just like the one in my actual home office.

On the left side of the artwork is a garbage can resting on the back end of my desk. AT home, the can is on the floor now, but the shape is exactly correct.

On the left side of the artwork, look behind my right elbow…this is some of the attention to detail that is most impressive. That’s an actual Partagas cigar box that I use to store my wallet and keys while I am at home.

Right above my hair in the artwork is a silver corvette; an exact replica of one of the many great gifts I have received from listeners which sits on my office bookshelves.

On the top of the bookshelf you see a copper Bugs Bunny leaning on a golf club…another great gift I received years ago from listeners. The artist even made note of the baseball cap I have draped over Bugs’ head (which is signed by a bunch of PGA players…another listener gift).

On the right side of the artwork, look behind my left elbow…and notice my two favorite books ever written; Atlas Shrugged and the Art of War.

Above the books in the artwork is my Grandfather’s antique radio…look closely at the bottom corner and you’ll see my grandfather’s pocket watch, both of which reside in my home office.

And finally is the stuffed German Shepherd with a rose in his mouth that my wife gave me a few years ago on Valentine’s day. The only difference now is that the dog also wears a Detroit Tigers hat, a gift from Cristi’s Mom.
