Rob's Thanksgiving Dinner at Williams Manor
December 2nd, 2008

This year once again for Thanksgiving my Dad came up Wednesday morning and stayed until Friday morning. We had 14 guests and served two turkeys and a prime rib along with all of the fixins..

My Dad and I spent most of Wednesday talking in the kitchen while preparing food for the next day’s feast.

Here is a funny time lapsed expose of our dog Nellie patiently waiting for love at my feet while Dad and I talk…

And then proudly sitting up and saying “see I am a good girl!”

Meanwhile, Shep is ever vigilante guarding the front door entry way of the house. This is his spot. From here he can see and hear almost all entry points and is always ready to alert/bark/attack if necessary. He’s such a good boy.

Wednesday evening ended with my dad and I enjoying some awesome lamb (prepared perfectly by me of course) and playing a favorite card game from my childhood, cribbage, while Shep and Nellie laid at our feet.

Thanksgiving morning the house was fully decorated and ready for guests.

And dad and I were back in the kitchen preparing food.

My wife Janell and I found a couple of opportunities to sneak away and take our obligatory silly pictures of ourselves.

Eventually the guests arrived. Here we see Arnie and the ugly shirted station manager gorging on appetizers while I slave away in the background on dinner.

It didn’t take Arnie long to order his lovely wife Emily to the sofa where they were able to enjoy football.

An hour later, Arnie hasn’t moved, my dad has started drinking and the ugly shirted station manager’s wife is licking her finger clean of appetizer goodness.

At some point my dad was able to wrangle Emily away from her keeper, Arnie, long enough to listen to stories of how mean Arnie is. I don’t know why it looks like my dad is holding a gun in his right hand.

Once the meat was all done My dad, Dawn’s husband Gary and I each carved one.

While the ugly shirt family did an awesome job of helping to clean up.

Here are two hysterical pictures of Shep and Nellie taken Thanksgiving night around 6pm right after my dad and I had taken them for a walk as they looked inside watching my wife and me get their dinner ready.

Thanksgiving night ended with more card playing for dad and me…

And our fat ass cat Parker lying by the door hoping a ham would fly into her mouth.

Friday morning my wife and I woke up, put on fresh pajamas and lied down on the sofa to spend a full day of watching DVR recorded programming!

You’ll notice I found a way to take NO pictures of Dawn at all! Don’t worry, her pictures are coming up later in the week.
