Part 2 Of Rob's Holiday Vacation
New Years @ Williams Manor
January 12th, 2010
Our annual two week Christmas vacation this year spanned the week before Christmas through New Year’s weekend. Here, in part two of my holiday photos We’ll pick up with Christmas morning and finish off with the beginning of 2010:

When we left off last week, Christmas morning had just ended with present opening for most of the family, but my wife Janell and I weren’t done playing Santa yet so we grabbed our dog, Shep and headed out back.

I presented Shep with his surprise present; an uncooked Cow femur bone; it’s the only type of bone strong enough to withstand a German Shepherd’s 750 pounds per square inch bite and not cause splintering of the bone, which is dangerous to doggy intestines. As you can see, Shep was enthralled with his treat.

Our recovering girl, Nellie got a bone of her own, but since she is on a restricted post-surgery diet, she had to settle for a dental chew toy.

Janell and I spent Christmas evening together, just the two of us, and I made an amazing prime rib for dinner.

Fast forward to New Year’s eve, which began with another amazing dinner; this time it was glazed spiral ham and homemade macaroni and cheese.

Then everything fell apart. We were going to spend a quiet New Year’s Eve at home, but Dawn and her husband Dumb-Dumb had plans fall through at the last minute and called begging us to have them over. It was pathetic.

Dumb-Dumb and I spent most of the evening playing pool; 24 games, to be exact. After all of that, it ended in a 12-12 tie. How Swiss of us.

The true highlight of the evening was watching Dick Clark embarrass himself yet again on the Rockin’ New Year’s Eve show. Someone please tell this man to stop.

And now a game called find the Cabernet. Here are our cats, Parker and Cabernet. This is Cabby’s new game she plays where she likes to hide under the big pillow.
