Shep & Nellie's Feeding Time
August 3rd, 2010
So many of you have written in over the years wondering exactly what we feed our dogs,
And how much we put into it each day, I thought I’d give you a look at this past Sunday’s feeding at Williams Manor:

We begin with the two most spoiled German Shepherds on the planet, Nellie (the white whore) and Shep (the perfect specimen)

Here is everything we’ll need to feed them today, including their empty bowls and individual kibble buckets.

We begin with freshly warmed white rice.

Next, a can of chicken breast in water is added; the water helps to break up the clumps in the rice

A heaping tablespoon of low fat cottage cheese is next. |

And then, with all of the gooey, sticky ingredients almost added, it’s time for their assortment of vitamin of powders; we use three different kinds of supplements to give them additional health benefits for their coats, joints and digestive systems. |

Every day a different little treat is added in to make the day’s feeding special; today each dog is getting half of a cut up turkey hot dog. |

Topping of the fresh ingredients is a tablespoon of canned pumpkin each…mmmmm…looks yummy, doesn’t it? |

Mix it all together to blend flavors and consistency…. |

Then, we add 2 cups each of all natural dry foods; no preservatives or additives or corn…only oats, rice and real meat in the dry food we use. |

Shep and Nellie always know when it’s feeding time, but they also they can’t beg so they just find different ways to hang out during the prep. |

Before they can eat they have to sit and wait for my command while drooling over their food… |

And then they can have at it. |

Nellie always finishes first because she eats like a hog. |

Although Shep is more messy, always leaving some kibble on the floor. |

Right after they eat, they both take a nice big poop. |

Which winds up here, in the bottom of the poop bucket. Looks as good as their food, doesn’t it?
