Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives So here is my wine review for the week of November 5th... ROBERT FOLEY CLARET 2005
Description: Forgive me, for this week’s review is nothing more than a personal indulgence inspired by temptation. I would love to tell you that this is a great preview of what’s to come in the 2005 vintage, but the truth is that Bob Foley nails every wine he makes. I would also love to tell you that this is an accessible wine that you should rush out and try but the truth is that Robert Foley wines are hard to find and damn expensive when you do. I know that the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle features his wines by the bottle. How and when I drank it: Tuesday afternoon October 30, beginning at 2pm How to get it: Find it on a restaurant wine list, get on the Foley waiting list, or get lucky at a wine merchant in person or on-line How Much: At the winery, about $110 per bottle My Thoughts: Yet another spectacular bottle of red wine from Bob Foley. This red wine blend is smooth, full and completely approachable even at this young age. The finish is awesome and the flavors range from berry to vanilla to chocolate to pepper. An amazing wine worth every penny you’ll spend.
