Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives So here is my wine review for the week of September 11th, 2006... LUNA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2003
Description: The 2004 cabs are starting to hit the market so if you're lucky, you may be able to score a few excellent bottles of the 2003 vintage for much less than regular asking price. Luna is a maker of an amazing Pinot Grigio and Merlot, but many of their other wines are inconsistent and suspect. How to Get it: It's available at the winery in Napa, occasionally at Bevmo and on-line. How Much: Per bottle, the winery wants $100. My Thoughts: This is a nice, dark, full almost chewy cabernet with a finish that is not necessarily smooth, but rather bold and rich. I enjoyed this bottle now, but suspect it will be much better in 3-5 years. Look for a lot of flavors like mocha, chocolate, tobacco, espresso, etc.
