Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives So here is my wine review for the week of November 6th, 2006... PRIDE CABERNET 2004
Description: Long my favorite winery, I anxiously look forward to my annual shipment of Pride Cabernet each year. I just received the 2004 2 weeks ago and have finally tasted it for the first time. How to Get it: If not already sold out, available at the winery in Napa, sometimes at Bevmo, in many restaurants and on-line if you're lucky. This is a winery that is worth getting on the waiting list for. Once accepted, you'll need to spend a few hundred dollars every year to stay active, but it's worth it. How Much: The winery wants about $50. My Thoughts: Yet another amazing Cab from Pride. Even fresh from the bottle, this young big red wine drinks as smooth as most aged for more than a decade. The aromas are full of vanilla, light mocha and some pepper. The flavor is smooth with an amazingly lush finish with some smokiness at the tail end. This wine will be even better as it ages.
