Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives
So here is my wine review for the week of September 18th, 2005...
Bogle 2003 Merlot

Description: Bogle has long been on most winos list as a reliable wine that is cheap. This would be a "swill," wine. Not to be drunk on special occasions, but a "nice," cheap drink on a Tuesday night.
How to Get it: Go anywhere that sells wine.
How Much: $10 at Safeway, between $8-12 in most stores.
My Thoughts: Putrid. I haven't drunk Bogle in a couple of years and now I remember why. I never understood why people who enjoyed quality wine ever thought that this grape juice was acceptable. It's rot-gut. Horrible. $2 would be too much to pay for this overly fruity, thin red wine which tastes like prunes that were in the sun too long and then peed on.
Overall Score: On my 5 vine scale, This gets 0 vines. That's right, no vines. I can't recommend this wine under any circumstances to anyone.
