Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives

So here is my wine review for the week of December 10th...

SPARKLING WINES FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE 2007

Description: As the end of the year approaches, many people begin to consider what to drink to celebrate. Issues of cost, flavor, and quality all enter in to the decision of champagne and/or sparkling wine. This week’s wine column is about those you should AVOID:

KORBEL: This is a putrid label that makes sub-par sparkling wine that is cheap for a reason

BAREFOOT BUBBLY: Their sparkling wine is as bad as their red wine. It’s $8 for a reason.

MUMM NAPA: If you want to drink a great sparkling wine made in Napa, buy Schramsberg…Mumm sucks.

IRON HORSE: A lame, too fruity, thin attempt at sparkling wine that ranges is exceptionally overpriced. Most likely, the $30-50 price tag is meant to convince you that the wine doesn’t suck, but it still does.

CHRISTAL: Without a doubt, this $250 bottle of champagne is the single, most overrated bottle of liquor in the history of the world. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this rat piss.
