Wine Reviews

Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives

So here is my wine review for the week of June 19th, 2006...

FOGDOG PINOT NOIR

Description: Ever since the movie "Sideways," Pinot has become the new Merlot. People drink it because it's cool, not because they understand it. Pinot is generally a lighter red wine, not as full or tannic as cabernet, the king of reds.

How to Get it: Who cares.

How Much: No idea, but whatever it is, it's too much.

My Thoughts: Once again I am reminded why I don't drink much Pinot. This is a truly lame bottle of wine. It's like someone put a poor wine cooler into a classier bottle. The wine is thin, fruity without balance and lacking texture or character at all. A total waste. I drank one glass and poured the rest down the drain.

Overall Score: To be fair, I have never liked Pinot, even good Pinot. I simply don't get why you would ever drink it. By my tongue, this isn't even a good one. Forget it. 0 vines.
