Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives So here is my wine review for the week of August 4th, 2006... FERRARI-CARANO FUME BLANC 2005
Description: This has long been a great, crisp white wine from one of my favorite wineries. SErve this ice cold on a hot summer day. How to Get it: It's all over the place including grocery stores, some warehouse stores, Bevmo and on-line. How Much: I've seen it as loW as $10 per bottle and never more than $20 . My Thoughts: This continues to be an amazing fume blanc, with more body, flavor and richness than most. It drinks more like a chardonnay and any chard lovers who like their white wines more fruity and buttery than oaky and toasty will love this wine. The flavors are layered with citrus fruit and a slight lemon-lime tinge, though there is no tangy bite.
