Rob's "Wine of the Week" Archives So here is my wine review for the week of May 28th, 2007...
Description: With the warmer weather upon us, I try to review a few cooler, crisper, more refreshing white wines that are meant to be enjoyed chilled. A really good white wine can be as refreshing as an ice cold beer, and sometimes Chardonnay is too heavy so the challenge falls on finding lighter fare. How to Get it: It's available at most Bevmos, some grocery stores, Most Sam's and Costco clubs. some wine merchants, on-line, and at the winery in Napa. How Much: At the winery, $11 per bottle. My Thoughts: Sometimes the purpose of this space is to steer you away from bad wine. If you want a great, refreshing, crisp glass of white wine this Summer, please try Ferrari Carano's Fume Blanc ($12 ish) or Luna's Pinot Grigio ($20 ish). This Sterling tastes like mowed lawn. Horrible. Bitter, bitey, makes you want to lick the drapes to get the taste off your palette. Overall Score: 0 vines.
