"Top 5 Baseball Players of All Time"

Criteria: We agreed that pitchers don't qualify for the discussion of the five greatest players ever because they don't contribute on a day-to-day basis. If a pitcher was to be considered, it would be Cy Young. Players were judged on the tools of their skill, stats and overall intangibles. Off the field antics like drinking, womanizing, etc. were deemed irrelevant, as we judged players for their on the field contributions.

Overview: For some reason, Willie Mays doesn't do it for wither of us. We also agreed that Joe DiMaggio, while statistically stellar was a complete dirt bag on the field and a horrible teammate, excluding him from the top 5

Rob's Notes: Arnie and I view baseball through very similar prisms and we were able to negotiate an agreed upon list fairly easily. In Arnie's original list Stan "The Man" Musial, whom I've always had as #2 ever was excluded. Since Arnie's dad loves Stan the Man it wasn't a tough sell to get him into the "top 5."
.

Arnie's Notes: Wow!!! We both agree on the baseball players. Truth be told this one was pretty easy. I can't believe some idiot would say Jose Canseco!!!!! If Pete Rose wasn't such a scumbag I really would consider him as well. I would still put this five against 9 pretty much anyday of the week.
