Wednesday November 19th, 2008 TOP 5 BEST TV THEME SONGS EVER Overview: A new survey was released two weeks ago listing the best theme songs currently running on TV (the list sucked, by the way). Today’s TV shows simply lack the old-school style and flair of the great theme song, which used to be a staple of great TV. Today’s songs (if they even exist) are lazy and lame. Criteria: Any TV show, cable or network is eligible. We’re looking for the opening/main theme song of them (for you dolts, that means the music that’s playing during the opening credits). Last week, we listed the worst themes which are defined as theme songs that make you change the channel right away and gnaw away at your brain like a cancerous leech, with no positive re-enforcement to them whatsoever. Rob's Notes: A great TV theme song is memorable, relevant to the show and so good that you actually want to leave the channel on the song so that you can either sing along or at least enjoy it. Arnie's Notes: Look here, there are theme songs and then there is the Dukes of Hazzard theme. You know the GREATEST theme song to ever be written?????? Sure, Cheers and Dallas are great, but they do not include a YEE HAW at the end.
