TOP 5 COMFORT FOODS
Overview: A comfort food is any great, usually rich and hearty, meal from one's childhood which conjures up great memories and no matter how high or low we are, takes us to a place that puts us at total peace. Food is good.
Criteria: The Comfort food has to have personal significance, this is not a list of America's comfort foods, but rather OUR comfort foods. Additionally, they have to be foods that to this day we still eat on occasion.
Rob's Notes: All of my favorite comfort foods have some type of weird family connection. My parents both made great, hearty dishes, often inspired by the Northeastern part of the United States. My sister taught me how to eat popcorn, which involves removing and eating the kernels and saving all of the puffed pieces in a bowl for one giant feast at the end with a mouthful of milk.
Arnie's Notes: MMMMMMM, fried bologna!!!!!! This could be the greatest thing that my dad ever taught me how to do. It is soooo good on the lips. Now as for the hush puppies and egg on toast those were my grandma's gifts to me, she couldn't cook worth a crap but she knew where the best hush puppies were and egg on toast was her original recipe. |
