"TOP 5 SINGLE SEASON NFL TEAMS OF ALL TIME"

Criteria: : In the Super Bowl Era, which five single season NFL teams have been the greatest? We're looking for the five teams that obviously won, but also had the intangibles that make them great, including superstars and coaching (by the way, in our list, the year attributed to the team refers to the September that the NFL season started. The 1985 Bears actually won the January, 1986 Super Bowl).

Overview: As we celebrate this year's Super Bowl being the 40th, this season is a perfect example of how great teams exist every season, but that doesn't mean that every season has a team that ranks amongst the greatest of all-time. All year we heard that the Colts would rank amongst them, yet they didn't even make the Super Bowl.

Rob's Notes: Only one team in NFL history has lost zero games in a season and that was the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Sports, like life, are about winning and since no one else has ever gone undefeated, how can the Dolphins not be the greatest ever? After that, the 1985 Bears and the 1989 49ers are easily the most dominating, intimidating teams of my lifetime. The rest are pretenders.

Arnie's Notes: So I know that the 85 Bears would probably beat the 72 Dolphins, but come on they were UNDEFEATED!!! A perfect season which has never been done again. The Dolphins have to be the best team. And Rob is so lost when it comes to the Steelers. That was a team that would beat you on the field then go and beat your family after the game instead of having wine and bree with them like the 89 Niners.
