Friday March 4th, 2008 TOP 5 NICEST THINGS WE CAN THINK OF TO SAY ABOUT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA (IF WE HAVE TO) Overview: Rob & Arnie did not support nor vote for Barack Obama and have never really liked him. Obama entered office with record high approval ratings which are dropping dramatically as he wades through the nations’ problems. Insert a premature “we told you so” here. Obama has a long way to go and may yet pull a successful presidency; but he’ll do it without Rob & Arnie’s support. Criteria: In an attempt to show that there’s a silver lining to every cloud, this week’s top 5 assigns the task to find at least 5 nice things to say about Barack Obama. The things need to be true and not backhanded. In other words, we can’t say he “has a great jump shot,” because he doesn’t; his basketball skills are questionable at best. We also can’t say that one of the things we like about him is “he’ll be gone some day;” that’s backhanded. Rob's Notes: I find Obama to be affable and charismatic, but I don’t like the man. I at least wanted to like Bill Clinton and George Bush; they seemed like guys I could hang out with at a barbeque and talk women and baseball with (in that order). With Obama, he is so patently phony and calculating that I find almost nothing positive about the man. History will prove me correct, but this was a hard assignment. Arnie's Notes: Look here, this was by far the most difficult top 5 to ever do because I HATE our current president. I don't want to say his name because if I do, Dawns voice will go off in my head saying his name like she does on the air and I can't stand that. But I still can't stand the man even more.
