TOP 5 MOST OVER-EXAGGERATTED
TRAGEDIES IN HISTORY
Overview: In the shadows of the 24-hour non-stop coverage of the bridge collapse in Minnesota, which ultimately killed less than half the initially reported number, we thought it was time to document the events in history that were either reported as tragedies but really weren’t, or those which are now described as tragedies using historical perspective as an excuse
Criteria: Some events garnered non-top media coverage that wasn’t deserved, others have been re-written to serve certain groups’ personal and political agendas or give people excuses for their own crappy behaviors. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were real tragedies deserving of the mass media coverage each got. Those are our benchmarks for this list.
Rob's Notes: See my list below. The rest is self explanatory.
Arnie's Notes: Look here, I don't believe in the space program, and I never will. It is the biggest waist of U.S. money and time and when this happened when I was 13 I hoped that it was the end of all of it. Too bad that I was wrong and it had to happen again and by the way, STILL nothing has been done to get rid of this. It's not a tragedy it is a waist of time and money. By the way, why is there Sprite in all space missions?????? Because they couldn't get Seven Up.
