Wednesday September 3rd, 2008 TOP 5 WORST SPORTS CITIES Overview: With the NFL season bearing down upon us, it’s time for our average homage to football season via a weekly top list with a sports theme. This year, we’re finally getting around to one of our favorite conversations; the worst possible cities in America when it comes to sports. Criteria: The fans are a huge part of this. Crappy, fair-weather bad sports in the stands go a long way to make a town a horrible place for sports. Also to be considered; facilities used by the teams, overall horrible-ness of the city itself and success (or lack thereof) of the teams. Only cities that have at least two major (NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL) male sports franchises can be considered. Rob's Notes: I started by listing my worst of each criteria (for example: worst fans; Philadelphia and the SFO Bay area) and then seeing how many cities showed up multiple times. Picking the top 5 was pretty easy after that. Arnie's Notes: Look here, if L.A. had a football team than that city would have been number one on my list because they would suck too!!!!!! Atlanta does have a football team and they have NEVER really been good. I know that they lost in the Superbowl to Denver but come on they sucked!!!!!!!!! The only thing that has ever happened worth a crap in Atlanta was the bombing during the Olympics.
