ANGER

So my hubby had 60 Minutes on the other day, a show I don’t normally watch unless I am sitting in the living room with the hubby and he is watching it! Any way Steve Wynn the Vegas man who has built several Casinos was being interviewed and it was revealed that he used to have a bit of a temper, let his anger get the best of him and he wished he had learned how to keep it under control the way he does now earlier in life. He said what turned it around for him was his friend the Dali Lama..yes that’s right one of his friends is the Dali Lama!! How cool would that be???!!!!! Told him that basically Anger is a blown up perception of ourselves…holy crap how much sense does that make!!!

I used to really let anger get the best of me, there was a lot to be angry at but shit you gotta learn to tame it! I am A LOT better now but every once in a while it veers its ugly head! Part of the problem is well I am Italian!! Vengeance is in our blood!!! Lol…lol!!! But I gotta say hearing that deep insight from the Dali Lama really hit me in a positive way. Think about it, most the time when we get angry its about what someone said or did or didn’t do, we take it PERSONAL, here comes the blown up perception of ourselves! I get what he is saying, it’s okay to love and honor yourself but when you let anger get the best of you, you are now believing you are bigger than the issue at hand. It’s not that there aren’t things that are valid to get mad at or upset by but when we turn that into such anger and let it run and or ruin our day we are now having a puffed up sense of self, YUCK! We got to remember that the world doesn’t always revolve around us! I hope that little insight from the Dali Lama will next time have you reflecting on what you are upset by and if you are becoming way to self absorbed and that is why it goes from upset to anger, that way we can all learn to tame our anger and put it in its rightful place…that my friends will help this to be A Wonderful Life!
