GIVING THANKS

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving week already!! Usually this time of year is joyful for most but obviously times are tough and instead of like year’s past of going all out, cutting back and back to basics seems to be the theme. Instead of dwelling on what was make this Thanksgiving a day to be thankful for what is. If this is a time of going back to the basics, let’s do just that and be thankful for the everyday stuff we take for granted. If we all have learned anything this past year or so placing all your happiness into material possessions can devastate you. I get it it’s fun to have stuff, shit if there is one hobby I enjoy the most it’s shopping!! But being thankful can take place whether you have stuff, less stuff or no more stuff…stuff shouldn’t dictate your moods…

So sometime during this Thanksgiving week, sit down and remember the basics you have to be thankful for. Don’t look around at what someone else has over you make this yours, it isn’t comparison time..when you start to really think about what is taken for granted what you assume is a given the list can go on and on…..Eyesight, hearing, the ability to talk, arms, legs, your health, running water..that’s right I said it running water! Hey every time you turn on that shower or faucet and there is water that cleans your body and the great feeling a clean body gives you yes that is something to be thankful for!! Close friends, a supportive sister or brother, a great marriage, the laughter of your child, a bed, blankets, a comfy pillow, not going to bed hungry, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the list is endless of things to be thankful for that are here right now, not what was or what will be, but right here today..don’t let yourself get caught up in some negative bullshit of what you don’t have this Thanksgiving..choose to focus on what’s positive there really is plenty of it and that helps this to be A Wonderful Life!
