About 5 years ago Gary and I bought a stuffed animal tiger for our nephew Kaleb when he was a baby. Kaleb of course is now 5 and over the years this tiger became his favorite stuffed animal. It has been his stuffed animal of choice to fall asleep with, he has taken it with him on many a family vacation and a lot of times takes it with him when running errands with Mom. That brings us to a great story I wanted to share with you.
About a week ago Julie (my sister in law, Kaleb’s mom) and Kaleb went to the movies with some of Kaleb’s friends his sister Kendra and of course the stuffed Tiger. Half way thru the movie Kaleb asked him mom, ‘where’s tiger?’ his mom thought Kaleb had it and he thought his mom had it. If you are a parent you know the panic that has now set in with your child!! They both got up and went to see if they had left the tiger in the theaters video game room they had been playing in before the movie, they had asked the manager if someone had turned it in and once the movie was over they went back into the theater to see if it was in there…the tiger was no where to be found. At this point my nephew says to his mom, ‘we need to call the cops and have everyone’s houses searched!!! LOL!! Boy that’s the call you want…lol!! Any whoooooo after Kaleb thought about it a bit, he asked him mom if they could put an ad in paper for his lost tiger. So Julie and Kaleb sat down and wrote the ad and put it in the classifieds.
At this point my sister in law thought there is no way someone is going to answer this, let alone see it! But holy shit someone actually called and not only that they actually had Kaleb’s Tiger!!! It was a grandmother whose granddaughter had picked up the tiger that same day they were at the movies. However before my sister in law could come and pick up the tiger the grandmother asked her for a description of the tiger to make sure it was indeed Kaleb’s!!! REALLY!! LOL!! At this point Kaleb doesn’t know someone has found his tiger so when Julie got home from picking it up, she told Kaleb to close his eyes and open his hands she has something for him. When Kaleb opened his eyes and saw his Tiger, Julie thought he was going to cry! How sweet is that! Kaleb really thought he would never see his tiger again, so freaken sweet!
Every night while the tiger was gone was quite the event to get Kaleb to sleep, of all his stuffed animals that was the only one he liked to snuggle with so I thought I would include the adorable photos of Kaleb passed out and happy with his now home stuffed tiger!! It’s little stories like this that help us to remember it is A Wonderful Life!!
