AS SPOCK WOULD SAY “LIVE LONG AND PROSPER”

I was soooooooooooooo excited for the new Star Trek movie that came out this past weekend and I was not disappointed!! Loved it! Permission to speak freely….I not only was a fan of the original Star Trek but I would have to say a Super fan of the Next Generation and this movie managed to give us the feel of both! Okay so of course there was a message right? Right! Friendship and Trust. The movie showed that while Spock and Captain Kirk didn’t start out the best of friends, they learned to set aside their differences for the greater good and eventually learned to trust and respect their differences and had a lifelong friendship.

The movie made me wonder how many of us have passed on a friendship that could have been great and beneficial to our lives, just because that person didn’t think or believe exactly what we did? Too many times we get caught up in group think and don’t allow those with differing views in. Why? Is it Fear? Is it Control? One of the many Wonderful traits our Country has is that it truly is a melting pot. So many different views, religions and races. And the beauty is we are FREE to express them. Yet sometimes we still find ourselves congregating to our own corners and never hearing the other side. Just because you may respect a differing point of view does not mean you are giving up your own, you can have both. There is so much diversity at our fingertips, learn from it, grow from it, it just may make your life even richer than it is now, try not to shut yourself off from those that are different from you, “Live Long and Prosper” and have A Wonderful Life!!
