BOD AFTER BABY MY BUTT!

Man oh man do I have a love hate thing with Hollywood. I love movies, I am intrigued with how the business of acting operates, and I like most love getting a peek into the world of La La Land. I however hate with a passion the obsession in Hollywood with women’s bodies. The UNREALISTIC obsession that continues to be sold as REALISTIC and we keep buying what they are selling. As I was flipping thru People magazine the May 26, 2008 edition, I came across a page titled, ‘BODY AFTER BABY!’ Pictured is Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Christina Aguilera and Salma Hayek. The article goes on to praise these women for getting their bodies back so quickly. After 3 months, 1 month, 4 months and 6 months they look fabulous once again. Are you freaken kidding me. So wonder women in America get so depressed that they are not back into tip top shape quickly after giving birth. Why does Hollywood feel the need to highlight this? Oh I know why just to show us once again how out of touch they are from the real world while making new mother’s feel like crap.

It’s so ridiculous when  you read about each star and  how they have a trainer. That’s right a damn TRAINER! Here’s an idea Hollywood, why don’t you make the article title something like this…’NEW MOMS IN HOLLYWOOD HAVE TRAINERS, NANNIES, PERSONAL CHEF’S, HOUSEKEEPERS AND PERSONAL ASSISTANTS  TO GET THEM BACK INTO SHAPE IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.’ The article is presented as if we are to be impressed with how fast these women got back into shape. Guess what I AM NOT. Let me tell you who would be inspirational, the new mom who is juggling not only motherhood, but wifehood and career hood and manages to get healthy without all the hired help. I seriously want to scream! I have girlfriends who look fantastic after having their babies and when they see how fast these women in Hollywood bounce back they are like ‘man it took me like 8 months to a year to get back into tip top shape’, they were not inspired by these stupid Hollywood stories, they were miffed or felt like they  themselves weren’t disciplined enough!

So hey Hollywood stick to movies, T.V shows, and giving us enough dirt to look at in the tabloids while keeping your Diet Secrets to yourself, cause guess what it ain’t no secret how much hired help you have!!! And People Magazine find REAL women to inspire other real women when it comes to getting back into shape after having a baby. Or better yet have a contest where some women win a trainer, nanny and personal chef and see how quick they too would be able to bounce back quickly, now that would help this to be A Wonderful Life!!
