August 9th, 2010 PERSPECTIVE This isn’t about making you think your problems aren’t relevant, of course the struggles you have going on in your life are real because they are yours and they are happening to you. It’s about giving our life and our struggles a little perspective. Knowing that there are those who have it worse than you do doesn’t change what your struggle may be but it can put it into…that’s right what’s the word….PERSPECTIVE!! You may be low on cash but your health is rich while another has cash and their health is poor. You may hate your job while another just lost theirs. Your teenager may be driving you crazy with their attitude while another parent’s teenager was killed while driving. You might be exhausted from all the long hours you have to work, from your day to day responsibilities, from the lack of vacations you get, from feeling like you are never getting ahead, from the drama of friends and family, just exhausted from life…. while another just found out that their time for living has just been cut short. Just remember whatever you are going thru good or bad shall pass. That is life’s cycle. It will help you have a better attitude, perspective for when you are going thru the bad. Perspective is a Wonderful gift. If you are in need of any please read below….. When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard.... ...to listen to his son whine about being bored. ...to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes. ...to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work. ...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep. ...to be silent when people pray to God for a new car. ...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower. ...to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying. ...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.
...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather. ...to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.
...to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog. ...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs. ...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.
...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.
The only thing harder than being a Soldier.
