PUSH YOURSELF

When you think you have given all you have, push yourself a little more, you will be amazed at your strength. The crazy thing about trying to get fit, which I am in the process of doing with my trainer Kacie, is you actually start learning a lot more about yourself and life, when you thought you would just be getting fit! While weight training and doing cardio the goal is to push yourself to the point where you have used all you have and then you push just a little harder to get the last bit of what you have out. While constantly doing that type of training you eventually start using that same philosophy in life. You will notice that you will start to challenge yourself even more with your goals, your priorities and how you are living your life. You may have thought you were already doing this, but you realize you actually have it in you to do even more, to become more. It’s not about being hard on yourself thinking you haven’t been good enough, it’s about realizing that you can be even better than you already were in all areas of your life.

The ‘push yourself’ mentality in the fitness world is not meant to only be used when you are working out, it’s meant to be used throughout your day. If you first start using this thought process with workouts, it will inevitably carry to the rest of your life. You will have gotten used to pushing yourself, digging dip within you to find more, you will get used to the uncomfortable feeling of thinking you have no more to give and then you are amazed that you had more inside of you. You will learn how to strengthen your mind, oh boy does the mind try and play tricks on you when you are pushing beyond your comfort zone, it will try and tell you you can’t that you must stop, that you don’t have it in you…of course we control our own minds, so the more you ignore the bad thoughts and train your mind to believe you can and that you have more in you, the better wife/husband, parent, friend, employee/boss you will become. The following video about Jason Lester, Ironman competitor is one great example of pushing yourself, going beyond where you thought you could, you don’t have to be an Ironman to have his great mentality on life..and that helps this my friend to be a Wonderful Life!
