SISTER IN LAW

I already knew, but this week I was reminded how lucky I am to have such a great sister in law, Julie. I received in the mail a hand written note from her and the words she wrote were not just that of a sister in law but a great friend.  The first time I met Julie I thought ‘that’s a girl I would be friends with.’ And over the years we have become closer and formed a true friendship. This is not always the case with people so I do feel very lucky. I have heard horror stories that happen between sister in law’s, personalities clashing, dogging each other on how to raise a family, the sister thinking the girl her brother married is a whore etc.. So when I met Julie and saw that clearly her and her brother (my hubby, Gary) were for sure cut from the same cloth I thought ‘man I just may have gotten lucky!’ I look forward to spending holiday’s, birthdays and vacations together it’s not just out of obligation that we are family, she has become on of my closest friends and I wanna hang with her.  It is so comforting to know that I will not only grow old with  Gary but with Julie also. We have the family bond that keeps us in touch but then there is the added benefit of friendship, she has such a giving heart and deep wisdom that comes in oh so handy when you need some good advice! For women having close bonds with other women is essential to our emotional well being so having a sister in law where you are not only connected by family but by your friendship helps this to be A Wonderful Life!!!
