THANKSGIVING

Wow already this week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving! The part I enjoy the most about Thanksgiving Day, besides being with those that you love, is the morning of. I usually start the day off (okay last year I didn’t but this year I will!) with a morning jog anywhere from 3 – 5 miles, hey you don’t feel so guilty eating all the grub when you do this!! I get back home put on a pot of coffee, shower, make some brekee for my husband and I and then start preparing desserts and appetizers for the Thanksgiving dinner we will attend usually at Rob and Janell’s house. While the pies are baking I love to have the Macy’s Day Parade on and this is also a great time to call loved one’s and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. I also make sure during the morning that I take time to really think about what I am most grateful for, after all this day just isn’t about food, parades and football! I like to reflect on the year making sure I learned from mistakes, acknowledge the successes, and really savored the moments. Real important on this day I feel is to take time to say a prayer for all those serving in our awesome Armed Forces and their families, they are making the true sacrifices so we can live as we do, and actually this should be apart of your daily prayer routine!! I also want to make sure I am aware of how much I do have as opposed to what I don’t have, when you dwell too much on what you don’t have you truly do miss the joys of what you do have and that to me is just sad. I hope you slow down just enough this Thanksgiving Day to be able to really savor the moments of the day and the things that matter to you the most that help this to be A Wonderful Life!
