Google, The benefits of the Sun, and you will be amazed at all the studies that come up from respected sources. Some articles even saying the benefits outweigh skin cancer risk….WHAT!! Now of course skin cancer does exist, and baking in the sun for hours at a time probably not the best thing for you, but avoiding it all together doesn’t seem logical either in my opinion. We have gotten to the point where we are covering up every inch of our body with hats, gloves, long sleeves, sunscreen on every body part or just staying indoors. Look I get it, I fell into the scared out of my mind category as well, shit all we have heard about for at least the last 10 years is how bad the Sun is for us, that we will get cancer if we get in the Sun and the one that really scares a woman, that the Sun will make us ugly and wrinkly, hell that’s enough to keep most woman indoors!!!
We are taught that long periods in the Sun baking will cause some damage to our skin and that I do agree with, some folks more damage than others. However the Sun does supply us with some great benefits as well. How about the biggie, Vitamin D. Yes I know you can drink milk, take supplements but studies say that the Vitamin D you get from the Sun is the best form of Vitamin D. I choose to believe those studies. Why? Because I feel as hard as we try and as far as we have come, Nature can’t be replicated the same why God made it. Everything the human body needs comes from the Earth and God’s creatures, think about it, it’s how we were designed and created. So the Sun of course plays a vital role in something we do need a little bit of. Do I go out in the Sun for hours at a time unprotected, of course not, but I do allow myself anywhere from 10 – 20 min’s letting the Sun do it’s thing, then if I am going to stay outdoors longer I will put some sunscreen on.
Vitamin D that you get from the Sun not only helps with Bone Health but helps our Immune Systems work properly, well HELLO that’s a biggie! Some studies even suggest that having the proper amount of Vitamin D already built up in our systems helps Cancer patients fight their battle. Something else you will find out in your research of the Sun, Sun hitting your skin helps reverse SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) now I don’t know about you but I would much rather spend some moments letting the Sun work its magic than take a damn pill! I know the Sun has caused quite the controversy so please do your own research and have an open mind and that will help this to be A Wonderful Life!
