AN UNEXPECTED LETTER

Just when you think you know your friends one will surprise you. This past weekend I celebrated my 40th Birthday surrounded by close friends and family just the way I wanted it. I still feel a little uncomfortable with that kind of attention but at the same time I wanted to be surrounded by all these folks for my birthday and I am really glad I was, thankfully though we don’t hit milestone birthdays every year, I still enjoy giving the attention more than getting it!!! I had such an amazing time and all the effort that everyone put into this special day for me still has me in awe. The next morning was like Christmas as I looked at the fireplace area in my hangover haze! There were so many gifts I thought how fun this will be for me and my hubby to sit down and start opening, of course you have a party for the company and don’t expect the gifts but it was fun opening each and every one of them I gotta say! A lot of thought and effort was put into each one and really made me feel special.

One however was completely unexpected. I would have never thought this person would do this for me. Not because I don’t think they are a thoughtful person or caring, I do I just never thought they would express themselves this way to me. As I was reading each card, a lot of them making me laugh, after all I did turn 40 so there is a lot of fun you can have with that! I came across this one that was kinda thick and inside the card was a letter. I just now took a deep sigh thinking about that letter! Wow, the most deeply written letter about how this person sees me and feels about our friendship. I know I don’t have trouble showing emotion with tears but shit this letter had me choked up. It’s one of those things that you read and you even start seeing yourself in a different light! This is a letter to have for a lifetime, one I call pull out in times of sadness to lift me up and one I can read just for the heck of it to remember the good as well! And one to remind me that just when you think you know a person they will pleasantly surprise you and that does help to make this life Wonderful!
