Updated January 7th, 2008 MY WISH FOR 2008 Alright so there are lots of things I wish would go away in 2008 like, The War, Child Abuse, World Hunger, Poverty, Cancer etc….however even I know unfortunately these things may take a little longer than 1 year. However there is one thing that is possible to get rid of and I am taking to you ladies….our obsession with weight loss. I am not talking about legitimate weight that you have to lose, meaning you have been told by your doctor that for your height you are overweight and should lose it because you then will be at risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease etc…I am talking about the VANITY POUNDS. The pounds you THINK you have to lose because you don’t look as thin as the actresses in Hollywood, Models, Playmates or even your best friend. EVERY Women has her own frame, height and shape. As a matter of fact when you were born you were built with a certain body structure and NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY, THAT IS YOUR BODY STRUCTURE. Let’s break down the body of a women in ways that may make it easier for you to except all the different sizes and shapes and most importantly accept YOURS. Body Frame – Small, Medium and Large Height – Short, Average, Tall BODY SHAPE – There are basically 4 types. Inverted Triangle – Your shoulders or bust are larger than your hips Rectangle – Your shoulders, bust, and hips are around the same size with no defined waistline Triangle – Your hips are wider than your shoulders Hourglass – Your shoulders and hips are around the same size, with a very defined waistline (If you check out Bradley Bayou’s book The Science of Sexy it will get in more detail to help you figure out your shape if you don’t know.) What does all this mean? Glad you asked!! Every women can be any combination of these three, Frame, Height and Shape. You may be a women who is Medium in Frame, Short in Height and have the Body Shape that is Triangle. Or you may have a Large Frame, Average in Height and have the Body Shape that is Hourglass. Do you see how and why we CANNOT, MUST NOT COMPARE OURSELVES WITH EACH OTHER. There are wayyyyyy tooooooo many combinations that our own individual bodies can be. If you are Small body frame, Tall in height and Rectangle in Body Shape you WILL NEVER BE Medium Body Frame, Average in height with an Hourglass Body Shape. Please please ladies let this be the year we learn what body type we are and LET that body type be the healthiest it can be and then let’s get over trying to please everyone else with these insane standards that as you can see don’t apply to all the WONDERFUL shapes and sizes we all are. Let’s instead learn to love the people we are, our talents, our interests and get out of the prison that WE HAVE LET society put us in. We are more than a body and seriously it’s time we learned that, women have come way to far in this world for us to allow ourselves to still be judged on our body size, RIDICULOUS!! Should we be healthy and active? Absolutely. Should we take pride in looking nice? Yes. Should we concern ourselves with trying to look a way that is impossible? HELL NO!! Should we continue to compare our bodies to other women? HELL NO!! Should we continue to let people tell us we are fat when we simply are not? DOUBLE, TRIPEL HELL NO!!!!! Take pride in your fitness level but also take pride in your brain, and the heart of who you are as a person and let this be the year we get ourselves some self esteem so we can break free from trying to lose those VANITY POUNDS and that my girls will make this A Wonderful Life!!
