So I live in Roseville, California on the East side and just around the corner in my opinion is still East Roseville but many years ago a group of snobs decided they didn’t want to be a part of Roseville anymore so they set out to get their own zip code that would represent their made up town of Granite Bay….silly..along with the real town of Roseville there is the real town of Loomis, and the real town of Folsom but like I said between those areas the same snobs that didn’t want to be a part of Roseville didn’t want to be a part of Loomis or Folsom and that is basically the circumference of this made up place of Granite Bay…they think they are what Beverly Hills is to L.A., they are to Sacramento…not even close!!!! If you grew up here it really is the big joke to say ‘No you don’t live in Granite Bay you live in Roseville, Loomis or Folsom!!!!’

Okay so the other day I was helping a friend by waiting at their house for the carpet cleaning service to arrive, guy shows up was super nice and while we were chatting  he asked if I lived in this area and I said no I live in East Roseville over by this road and that road(of course I inserted roads when talking with him but don’t want to advertise where exactly I live on cyberspace!!) and he says, ‘oh okay my sister lives over in that area and they are petitioning to get the Granite Bay zip code’….I about shit my pants, I mean really this area he was talking about is literally down the street from me and it is CLEARLY Roseville… are you kidding me,  it bothers you that much that you have East Roseville’s zip code instead of Granite Bay’s..it’s just a stupid zip code! So people in this country are going thru the worst Economic recession, Our troops both Men and women are sacrificing  their lives overseas, thousands of parents are hoping their children make it thru cancer treatments, countless abused animals will never make it out of their situation and a stupid zip code is what you are fighting for??? Aren’t you super!  I realize problems are relative..but come on this isn’t what normal people would even consider a problem…good news tho, even if you get your wish to change your zip code to Granite Bay guess what geographically you are still in Roseville..hahahaha…

I know I know I am not being very nice, I guess stuff like that just bothers me when you look around and see folks with real issues or you hear about heroic things everyday people are doing and then you hear a story like  this and you just shake your head in disbelief, of all the things in life a zip code you think will make that big of a difference well if anything it is a reminder that some folks get handed real challenges in this life that make them stronger people and others aren’t handed much in the way of growth and continue to live in la la land! Wonderful!!!
